Make the most of your experience at 4th International Conference on Global Food Security: Online

Before the conference

1. Plan your schedule to optimise your time

Check out the conference programme on the event website and then organise your personal attendance schedule via the online event platform or mobile app (available one week prior to the conference).

2. Familiarise yourself with the online platform

Login information and guidelines on accessing the online platform will be sent to you one week before the live event: Login, test your system, audio and video connections and download the mobile app.  Take time now to familiarise yourself with the online environment.  For the best experience use a laptop or desktop rather than mobile devices.

3. Create your profile for better networking

Optimise your online profile for online networking: Add a picture, short biography and links to your social networks. Your contact information is only available to those that you agree to connect with.

4. Set reminders for live sessions
With more distractions in the home, office or lab environment it’s easy to miss the live sessions: Set calendar reminders for sessions you want to attend live – attending live is your only chance to ask questions and interact with the speakers.

During the conference

1. Learn from the experts at your own pace
Be inspired by our keynote speakers and gain an insight into new research from around the world. No need to take notes as you can watch all talks and slides again after the event.*

2. Get interactive
Participate: Ask questions during the live sessions, vote in the online polling and get social using #GFOODSEC2020.  Post messages, comments and pictures on the provide social event feed.

3. Build your network
Engage with speakers, poster presenters and other attendees in the live sessions. Connect with other delegates to discuss common research topics and arrange meetings.

4. Collaborate 1:1
Arrange one-to-one video meetings with other participants: follow-up on key areas of interest resulting from the talks and posters.

5. Meet with exhibitors
Visit the online exhibitor booths to find out more about the latest products and services: watch demonstrations on video and chat live with company representatives.

6. Enjoy the experience
Prepare to participate and to have some fun with your peers.

After the conference

1. Catch up on what you missed
Watch any recorded sessions you may have missed. Follow up with individual speakers and delegates via the connect function in the conference app. 
On-demand access to recordings and presentation abstracts are available for 6 months after the live event*.

2. Feedback
Complete the post-event survey: this is new experience for us all and we want to know what worked well for you and where we can improve.

* On-demand access includes recordings of talks and slides, poster pitches and posters from authors that have agreed for post event distribution: the organisers cannot guarantee on-demand access to all presentations
