Clayton A. Hollier, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, USA
Dr. Hollier is a Research/Extension Plant Pathologist working on crop loss assessment of the foliar diseases of rice, soybeans, maize and grain sorghum. Hollier’s work on Puccinia polysora, the incitant of southern corn rust, has led to a greater understanding of the general biology, epidemiology, yield loss and management of this pathogen on maize. His work has been the basis of a recently published decision aide to manage this important disease. Dr. Hollier has been a professor of Plant Pathology at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center for more than 35 years and has shifted research emphasis to a more active role in plant health for global food security.
