Submit abstract here

Abstract submission deadline: 11 September 2026

Abstracts are invited by 11 September 2026 for the following formats:

  1. Oral presentation
  2. Pitch (equivalent to poster presentation)
  3. Dialogue session (in which science meets policy and practice on contested topics)
  4. Pre/post conference sessions

Dialogue sessions

We invite proposals for dialogue sessions -  in which science meets policy and practice on contested topics, as defined by De Roo et al. (2024)

Proposals are for roundtable discussions on pertinent dilemmas or contested topics in global food security. These sessions will take around 2.5 hours and are part of the main conference programme. We expect proposals to indicate which stakeholders will be invited as guests.

Pre/post conference sessions

We invite proposals for half-day or full-day events on 19 or 23 April 2027 including: scientific workshops, networking or partnership events, learning experiences, visits to a demonstration site or company, cultural or sports activities, etc.

Notes for authors

You can submit as many abstracts to the conference for review as you would like.

If, after the review by the committee, you have more than one paper accepted for the conference, you will need to register to attend and pay an additional paper fee for each additional paper (i.e., for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th papers – not the 1st). Please note this is for papers that you are the presenting author of, not papers that you are co-author of.

Once the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must register for the conference and present the paper at the conference.

Abstracts of all accepted contributions will be included within the abstract system which will be distributed to all registered conference participants.

Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all correspondence. Allow at least 2 hours for your receipt to be returned to you.

Publication opportunities: Selected contributions will be considered for one or more Special Issues of Global Food Security. Find out more here
