Agnes Martin

From a young age, Agnès has had an never-ending curiosity to understand the world she lives in, with science as its North Star, and a passion for sharing knowledge. This led her to become a teacher in Life and Earth sciences and a researcher with a Ph.D in Ecology (Paris XI, 1989).

After 5 years working in scientific research while teaching at the university, she spent 30 years working in the food industry (R&D, institutional communication, company governance, public affairs, etc) with a focus on health, nutrition, diet, sustainable diets & food systems at local, regional and international levels. In parallel, she supported the Fondation Carasso for 3 years in the development of its strategy and action plan on sustainable diets. This diverse professional experience has offered her multiple opportunities to create dialogues and partnerships between academia, NGOs, private companies, trade organizations, public authorities etc.

To respond to the urgency of transforming food systems and diets due to the multiple environmental crises we are facing, she established in 2023 aktnao, a consulting company, with the aim of contribute to the acceleration of food systems & diets transformation through the empowerment of decisions-makers (private and public sector, investors, etc), teachers and citizens.

Born in the mountains of the French Alps, Agnès is deeply attached to Mother Nature, to the harshness of the mountains that makes man humble and to the nobility of the peasant profession.
