Aleksandra Krstikj

Aleksandra Krstikj is an Associate Research Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, in the School of Architecture, Art, and Design. She holds a PhD in Architecture from Osaka University, Japan. Her research focuses on how urban form, socio-economic inequality, and informal food environments interact to shape food vulnerability and community resilience in cities. Her research integrates qualitative methods, GIS tools, and transdisciplinary modeling to inform more equitable and health-oriented urban development policies.

She has led research projects funded by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) and the Observatory of Cities at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Her work has been published in high-impact journals such as Journal of Urban AffairsSocial Indicators ResearchHabitat International, and Land. She is a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (Level 1) and of international academic associations, including the American Association of Geographers, the Architectural Institute of Japan, and the Regional Studies Association.
