Divya Narain

Divya Narain is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in Food Systems Finance, currently an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford. Her work sits at the intersection of climate change, industrial animal agriculture, and finance, aiming to redirect capital away from factory farming toward sustainable food systems that strengthen food security rather than undermine it.

Her work bridges academic research and advocacy. As a 2024 Tiny Beam Fund Fellow, she authored a guidance for civil society on advocating against the financing of industrialization of animal agriculture. She provides research support to the Stop Financing Factory Farming coalition, and is also writing a book, Dismantling Big Livestock (Routledge, UK). She has served as a Lead Author for the IPBES.

Divya did her PhD from the University of Queensland and her Master's and postdoc from University of Oxford. Her research has appeared in journals like Nature Sustainability and Science, and featured in The Independent and Forbes.
