Dr. Hira Singh is Associate Professor of Vegetable Science at Punjab Agricultural University, India, with over 16 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension. His work focuses on nutrient-sensitive horticulture, advancing affordable, accessible, and nutrient-dense through genetic improvement of traditional vegetables for resource-constrained communities. He works closely with grassroots populations, particularly smallholder farmers and women, promoting climate-resilient, nutrition-sensitive, and sustainable production systems to strengthen household food and nutritional security.

His research and outreach align with global frameworks, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and European Union priorities on sustainable agriculture, food systems transformation, and climate resilience. He emphasizes translating science into practice through farmer-cantered approaches and effective knowledge dissemination.
